We are proud to celebrate Dipa Chaulagain, whose exceptional commitment to care earned her an invitation to a royal reception at Windsor Castle.

HRM Homecare Carer Honoured at Windsor Castle Reception Hosted by Their Majesties

HRM Homecare carer Dipa Chaulagain was honoured at a prestigious reception held at Windsor Castle on 11 February, hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla to celebrate excellence in care across the United Kingdom.

The reception shone a spotlight on the vital contribution carers make to the social and health landscape of the UK. The evening recognised carers in all forms — from professional carers and NHS staff to foster carers, young carers, and unpaid carers supporting family and community members.

Dipa was selected by the Scottish Government in recognition of her dedication, compassion and commitment to delivering outstanding care. During the evening, she had the opportunity to meet and speak with Their Majesties, as well as Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, alongside many other distinguished guests.

Dipa joined HRM Homecare in 2023 through Routes to Work and quickly established herself as a valued and trusted member of the team. She is known for her hard work, kindness and unwavering dedication to the people she supports.

HRM Homecare CEO Lynn Laughland MBE commented:

“Dipa consistently goes above and beyond for our service users, enabling them to live as independently as possible in their own homes. It is wonderful to see her recognised on behalf of all carers at HRM Homecare and providers across Scotland.”

Reflecting on the evening, Dipa described it as a truly memorable experience and a proud moment — not only for herself, but for the caring profession as a whole.

“The castle was amazing, and the room where the event was held felt very prestigious with flags all around. I met the Duke of Edinburgh first and chatted about the royal castles. I then met His Majesty, who was very friendly and interested in where I worked and what I did as a carer in social care. I shook hands with him and the Queen, who thanked me for being there.”

Dipa’s recognition highlights the extraordinary dedication shown by carers every day and reflects the values at the heart of HRM Homecare’s commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred support.
